I'm having a splendid day compared to yesterday. Yesterday it was rainy and disgusting and I had to wait an hour for the 7 train. (Everyone knows, the MTA melts when it rains.) Today, New York City was all like, "Sorry I was such a douche yesterday, here's puppies!"

The weather is perfect, I got a seat on the train, and there were 3 chihuahua puppies in the elevator with me this morning. One of them was SO CUTE, and I am very picky about chihuahua cuteness.

I have been eating terrible food lately. I got pizza last night. ( No one could stop me. ) And for lunch today I had 3 crunchy tacos from Taco Bell. TACO HELL!

I'm just feeling justified to get all my cravings out of the way so I can diet again. There's a big order of delicious diet-food being shipped to me. Not any old diet, the raw food diet. It is my diet of choice, because it is so extreme. So I got raw-labeled stuff like, Lara bars and nuts and fruit leather on Amazon because it ends up less expensive than the grocery store. Still expensive, but it's all really good snack food, which I will need.

Speaking of, I baked on Sunday. We didn't have any dairy or eggs, but I did have some butternut squash puree and almond milk, which I knew from past experience could be used in BAKING /Alton_Brown.

Here's my recipe, turned out pretty good actually.
It's kind of like zucchini bread and spice cake, not very much butternut squash flavor, even though that's what it is.

Vegan Butternut Squash Bread (Cake?)

2 cups flour
1½ cups sugar
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground nutmeg
½ tsp cinnamon
1½ cups butternut squash puree
1/3 cup canola oil
1/3 cup almond milk

1. Preheat oven to 350°.
2. Stir together all the dry ingredients in one large bowl.
3. Stir together all the wet ingredients in a separate bowl, then add them to the dry mix until all the four is absorbed.
4. Pour into a greased 8" x 8" cake pan.
5. Bake for about an hour at 350° or until toothpick inserted in center comes out cleanly.

Our oven is ghetto, a normal oven probably requires a lot less time.

Been eating like a Texan, in Texas. It is a magical place. Here there be Bison burgers, Mission chips, bean dip, Margaritas, Shiner Bock, and, most importantly, Blue Bell ice cream...

I get back to NYC tomorrow! I have no clue what I'm doing for New Year's.

boohoo...

I had an extremely weird dream last night in which I was having an affair with Jon Stewart, or Jon Stewart was having an affair with me?
I know this might have been an EXCELLENT dream for some people, but honestly, I have no idea where it came from...

So... anyway! I bought that new laptop. :D

I ended up getting the Toshiba Satellite T115 11.3" in black. It's darling, and so far I am very pleased with the performance. Thanks for all your recommendations!

I also just got a Google Wave preview invite from Pac, so that's fun. Now to figure out what to do with it… ellipses…

So I'm thinking about purchasing this laptop here. Although, this may be a wait til Christmas thing...

http://www.dell.com/us/en/home/notebooks/laptop-inspiron-10/pd.aspx?refid=laptop-inspiron-10&s=dhs&cs=19&~oid=us~en~29~fasttrack_win7_anav_16~~

I'm looking for an inexpensive, TINY and LIGHT laptop that can at least play movies. It's mostly for tv and movie watchin', so it needs to have some kind of video out, like HDMI or DVI, so I can hook it up to my flatscreen.

Also would be nice to have for traveling though!

I found that one because I've had so many Dell's that worked great, but... I dunno, is that a good deal?
Does anybody have more recommendations on tiny laptops?

One day I'll figure this out myself and feel really dumb for asking, but I gotta wonder...

How does opensource software exist? If it's free, how are they making any $$$? How do they keep the lights on?

Stuff like Wordpress. I don't understand how, it's just so convenient, how can it be free?

I haven't used my mood icons in a million years!

Be jealous of me!!!

Okay, so I bought an Intuos4 today. That means I'm gonna have 2 extra tablets.

So check out my Ebay listing.

Small Bamboo Fun Tablet! BRAND NEW!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290365709746&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:1123

It was kind of an... oops! I don't actually like this tablet that much... its just too small for me, but I imagine, it would be an awesome thing to have if you just wanna doodle or just can't stand using a mouse all the time.

I'm going to sell the old Intuos2 as well! It is 9x12, but in very worn condition. In spite of its age, it works very well. I'm using it right now since I put the Bamboo back in the box.

It was just held together with duct tape, because you know, I used to travel with it. I learned how to draw on it... These things have a lifetime warranty.

I'm actually kind of sad! ;_;

bye bye Intuos2... you are for saaale....

So I know for sure that I'm moving away from New York next year. I LIKE NY, but I don't love it. I'm thinking Austin would be a good next place to live. My brother lives there, and my parents live in Houston, so it might be nice to live closer to family. That's a pro.

CON: must have car...

PRO: warm most of the year!

CON: No beaches...

PRO: cost of living is low (compared to say, CA or NY)

CON: MUST HAVE CAR. (this is true, right? could be a pro! I just don't like spending extra $$$... )

...

I also might want to live somewhere in CA, but I don't know so much about CA except that um, it was really cool when I visited...?

Post a picture in my comments of what you think describes me when you think about what/who I am. No matter how surreal or plain.

Give no written explanation.

Just an image.
